In the past, I've had a job....
Where I gave my 2 weeks notice and my boss knowing this fully scheduled me for weeks 3 and 4. Then threw a mini tantrum when I had to again tell him I wouldn't be coming in those weeks. So yeah, I think the OP is being petty in this regard and should've just let this employee work out the week rather than firing them on the spot and I'm guessing reading them the riot act about never being hired again by that company blah blah blah. OP should feel bad for his bad behavior. We're all people and unless she was doing a bad job, this reaction imo is unwarranted.
