In the past I have normally begged my employees to stay an extra week to get us
Those two weeks, a week to hire and a week for them to help train. Most of the time, they won’t as they have already accepted a job. Lately, I have had multiple employees let us know the day of that it would be their last day. That is really challenging since we area. Home service provider and have our schedule booked out weeks in advance but not sure you can really set a precedence. There is no law that protects employers from people leaving in an at will state. At the end of the day, I would just focus on hiring replacement, not how to set any future precedence for employees leaving.
